Immigration Consultant (RCIC)

An RCIC is a professional licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) to legally give paid Canadian immigration advice and represent applicants. Only RCICs, lawyers, or Quebec notaries may lawfully do so for a fee.

For routine applications (Express Entry, study/work permits, sponsorship) a licensed consultant is usually more cost-effective. For appeals, judicial reviews, litigation after a refusal, or complex legal issues, hire an immigration lawyer.

Check their licence number (R followed by digits) against the CICC public register at register.college-ic.ca and confirm the status is 'active'. Every consultant here shows a licence number and status drawn from that official register.
